Virtual field trips allow teachers to engage students in yet another way of learning. Using the computer, students can visit places around the globe without leaving their classrooms. Many sites use Quick Time movies, Web Cams, animations and sounds that allow the students to experience places that one might never have the opportunity to visit. One can visit distant lands as well as visiting places that are "out of this world".
